Corporate Partnerships with Brendoncare – Tate Recruitment
Brendoncare values the contribution its corporate partners make in so many ways including volunteering for our diverse activities and raising awareness among their own business networks about our work, helping and supporting older people.
One corporate partner who we work with is Tate Recruitment. Founded in 1985 – a year after Brendoncare, Tate works closely with Brendoncare, supporting us with recruitment in our office roles such as Adminstrators, Finance Support, HR & Recruitment, Fundraising and much more.
Danielle Davies is Tate’s Managing Consultant who looks after temporary recruitment for its Winchester branch. She is pictured in the centre above with fellow Tate volunteers, Senior Recruitment Consultant, Chris Albin Jones (left) and Emily Hutt, Senior Operations Manager.
She explains how the corporate partnership works, how Tate’s staff get involved in Brendoncare’s activities and what benefits it brings them individually and as a company.
“At Tate, we are allowed to have a day every year when we can officially give our time to a chosen charity, supporting them in any way that is beneficial.
“Over the past couple of years, I’ve worked closely with Brendoncare’s recruitment and line managers. Supporting and understanding the business enables us to pass on information to candidates interested in the roles.
Cultures:
“We have learned lots and discovered our cultures are very aligned. I asked if there was anything we could give back in supporting Brendoncare, whether it’s community activities or residents’ events. It’s just unbelievable the amount of effort that goes into these events.
“Specifically, we chose to support the Brendoncare Hat Fair at Otterbourne Hill last month (July). We had a couple of meetings and went to Otterbourne Hill a couple of times to understand the brief so we knew what to expect and how we could help.
“We shared the event on our social media channels then collected quite a lot of prizes for the tombola and also gifts for the winners of the hat competition.
“On the day, we checked people in, we put together the hat category signs and the voting slips, organised a visual presentation of Hats Through The Years on the screen in the care home’s hub. Some of our clients also provided items including prizes – and the ice cream!
“Otterbourne Hill is such a beautiful environment to be part of. It is so infectious, and you can see why its residents are happy to be there. They are good fun, love a chat and you can really tell that you have brightened up their day.
“These chats really put everything in perspective especially when you work in a corporate environment which can be stressful. In our business, it is all about people – and people like to be around like-minded people.
Perceptions:
“Above all, it has changed my perceptions of what a care home is like. The place is lovely, and the people are even nicer.
“We are so happy to be involved with Brendoncare, and already, they have been in touch about us getting involved with something in October – and Christmas!”
