2025 – Year in Review

As we look back on 2025, we are proud to reflect on a year shaped by generosity, connection, and care.

From fundraising successes and new community spaces to service growth and team achievements.

Highlights of 2025

A Message from Michael Crutchley, Chief Executive

“This year focused on strengthening our connections across all our services. A key highlight was the opening of the Knightwood Hub in December, marking an exciting step forward for Brendoncare and the communities we support.

“We also welcomed the first CQC inspection for St Giles View, achieving a rating of ‘Good’ and providing a strong foundation for the future.

“In addition, Brendoncare was proud to have three regional finalists at the Great British Care Awards, celebrating the dedication and excellence of our teams across the organisation.”

Care Homes

Throughout 2025, Brendoncare’s care homes continued to deliver high-quality care, celebrate milestones and receive national recognition.

  • Time Capsule Marks Brendoncare’s 40th Anniversary

To round off our 40th anniversary year, a time capsule was buried at Otterbourne Hill, containing photographs, stories and poems celebrating all the activities at the care homes.

  • Quality Care Recognised at St Giles View

Our care homes continue to provide quality care with Brendoncare St Giles View given a ‘Good’ rating by the CQC. This excellent news came as the care home marked its second birthday.

Three nurses celebrated their 25 years’ service at Brendoncare Alton and one of our carers retired after 41 years.

  • Top 10 Recognition for Brendoncare

National care home directory, Lottie, recognised Brendoncare as one of its Top 10 Small Care Home Providers.

Fundraising

Brendoncare’s Christmas BIG Give campaign raised £17,177 to support our work with older people. We are deeply grateful to everyone who donated so generously, as well as our charity partners and the BIG Give for helping to make the campaign possible.

A special thanks go to our teams across our care homes for their commitment and support throughout the campaign, and to our champion sponsor Reed, whose backing was instrumental in achieving this wonderful result. Together, this generosity is making a meaningful difference to the lives of older people in our care and communities.
