Housebuilder gives tree saplings to Brendoncare’s care homes
Brendoncare’s care homes received some special gifts from housebuilder Barratt Homes that will bring them festive joy over the coming years.
Barratt Homes donated 30 Norway spruce saplings to our seven care homes. These are the UK’s most popular Christmas trees which colleagues and residents have been busy planting.
The donation is part of the housebuilder’s ongoing commitment to local ecology, ensuring the upkeep of wildlife and biodiversity.
Brendoncare Stildon in East Grinstead, which is local to the housebuilder, was the first to receive its saplings. Here are home manager Annie, resident Dorothy and wellbeing coordinator, Sharon with their saplings – and lots of tinsel!
Brendoncare Meadway have been planting theirs in pots.
Rebecca Spicer, Brendoncare’s Wellbeing Manager, says: “The donation from Barratt Homes gave our residents a lovely activity to take part in. Planting the Christmas saplings in our outdoor space will add an extra festive feel to the home.
“We look forward to seeing them grow over the years. We are committed to providing a range of activities for our residents and welcome the opportunity to work with the local community wherever possible.”
Alex Dowling, Sales and Marketing Director at Barratt David Wilson Southern Counties, adds: “For the past four years, we have been donating saplings to local organisations to spread festive cheer.”
Thank you to Barratt Homes for their very kind donation. We are all looking forward to seeing the saplings grow into magnificent Christmas trees.
