Brendoncare Otterbourne Mews comprises 20 rental apartments that offer reassurance, support, and flexibility to couples facing the daily challenges of living with dementia.
Located within Brendoncare Otterbourne Hill, Otterbourne Mews comprises 15 two-bedroom and five one-bedroom apartments, all available on a rental basis, allowing flexibility to meet the changing needs that living with dementia presents.
Our shared care approach ensures that couples can remain together in later life even when needs vary.
Support from our on-site, experienced care team, as needed, alleviates the stress of everyday household tasks, and recreational support allows partners the opportunity to take a break and go out, knowing their loved one is cared for and safe.
Our building’s design supports people living with dementia. The construction of the apartments is based on the Stirling Gold Standard in dementia design. Their design, together with the lighting, contrasting colours, orientation, and security features, helps those living with dementia to find their way around the building and feel safe within a homely environment.
Our care team is on site 24 hours a day to support our residents. Our team members can assist with household tasks, personal care, organising medication, and arranging visits from healthcare professionals. A package of care can be arranged and implemented to support an individual’s needs, which can be scaled as needed. We can also provide respite care and one-to-one care at short notice if required.
Otterbourne Mews’ apartments all have a fully equipped kitchen, a walk-in shower, a built-in wardrobe, and gas central heating. Security features include a secure lock on the front door, double-glazed windows with key-operated window restrictors, a wireless emergency call response system connected to our nursing home team with call points in the bedroom and bathroom, and smoke and heat detectors.
Each apartment is unfurnished apart from carpets, white goods and curtain batons, and has a private terrace or balcony.
Residents have full access to Otterbourne Hill’s facilities, including our communal lounges and balconies, the library, extensive, landscaped gardens, and activities at our community hub.
Brendoncare Otterbourne Hill Mews is proud to hold a ‘good’ rating in all areas from the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
